Job Description

The main purpose of a Business Development Manager is to identify and target conquest SME business, predominantly UK mainland with a strong emphasis on commercial vehicle opportunities (LCV up to 3.5t). This is a door opening role and one that you will work closely with the HoBD, HOS and Sytner Group to offer the complete range of products & services available within Agnew Leasing. This will include but not limited to compiling quotations, conducting fleet reviews, tender submissions, AFM presentations and active participation in marketing activities. You will have a high level of autonomy & trust, excellent communication skills both internally and with the clients we are trying to do business with. Ultimately the aim of your role is to find, nurture, help secure & pass clients to our Account Manager Team to manage on an ongoing basis and then move on to the next opportunity whilst keeping an eye on business won. If NI based, UK travel will be required

Key Responsibilities:

The following responsibilities are core to the effective performance of a Business Development Manager working within Agnew Leasing. Accuracy of work is a priority in all responsibilities.

We may require additional specific activities and, where so, these will be identified separately.

  • Identify and approach new customers within NI & UK mainland.
  • Maintain regular contact with all prospective customers with the aim of improving the relationship to the point we are given the opportunity to tender for their business.
  • Maintain a good knowledge of all funding products and be aware of key taxation issues, inc. WLC analysis.
  • A thorough understanding of Fleet Management, Salary Sacrifice, Affinity & Agnew Fleet Manager, our online fleet management system.
  • The ability to present, sell and close at senior management level.
  • Work hand in hand with our Head of Business Development/Sales Manager/Account Manager team and review all business development activity and maintain it at an acceptable level.
  • Take an active part in upholding the Company's Health and Safety Policy as set out in the Conditions of Employment.
  • Additional or varied duties as may be reasonably required by the Company and notified to you from time to time.

Your Skill Set:

  • Have a proven sales record in a target driven environment.
  • Ability to demonstrate growth of sales (conquest) in your current role.
  • Previous experience within the motor industry essential, preferably fleet and/or commercial vehicle experience would be beneficial.
  • Excellent interpersonal & presentation skills.
  • Possess a high degree of self-motivation, confidence and tenacity.
  • Be accustomed to working in a modern computerised environment.
  • A sound knowledge of asset finance, fleet management, contract hire and leasing.
  • Evidence of the ability to forge long term relationships leading to successful outcomes.
  • Hold a full driving licence and be aged 25+ for insurance purposes
