We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Specification Technologist.

This is a fast moving, busy and varied role, you will be a vital part of the team responsible for delivering specifications, artwork and packaging for our wide range of exciting products.

What will you do?

  • Be an integral part of the team responsible for reviewing artwork, creating the pack copy and signing off the finished product packaging
  • Experience an exciting and expanding product portfolio ranging from ready to eat party food through to ready to cook seafood with a range of UK and international retail and B2B clients.
  • Collaborate with our professional international suppliers to create raw material specifications for our innovative product range.
  • Provide support for our portfolio of new products to ensure accurate specifications are available for our factory, for our customers and for our suppliers.
  • Work closely with our internal and external stakeholders to present a professional, right first time point of contact for all aspects of specification, artwork and packaging delivery
  • A curiosity and interested in food, i.e., a real "foody" who is excited to know about where food comes from and how it is made
  • Love to be involved in the technical aspects of launching new products including artwork, allergens, ingredients, nutrition, health claims and compliance with legal and customer requirements
  • An excellent communicator with the ability to build strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • An attention to detail and accuracy; no two days are the same so you must be well organised, self motivated and resilient
  • The ability to multitask and prioritise to meet strict deadlines
  • IT literate training in our customer specification platforms will be provided
  • Enthusiastic about the latest food technology, legislation and retailer requirements.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Degree or HND in Food Technology/Food Science or equivalent
  • This role may also be suitable for a Food Graduate as we can provide training and support
  • Previous experience in Food Manufacturing
  • Experience in working with retail customer specification portals
  • A driving licence and own vehicle are essential due to the location of the site.
