Senior Manager, Claims and Underwriting Strategy

HOURS:
Full time
Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at one of our office sites

Playing an integral part across our Protection business, you'll lead a team that is shaping our underwriting and claims approaches across all Protection propositions.

You'll work closely with our pricing and reinsurance teams to set our insurance risk appetite, also working with a range of external parties at the same time.

You'll be a leader in your field, respected across the industry for your insight and willingness to push the boundaries in underwriting and claims.

All in, this is a fantastic opportunity to help LBG and its Protection business achieve its ambition of being a top 3 provider across the UK.

Research, design, build, test and deploy enhancements to our automated protection underwriting journeys
Own our Claims Philosophy and approach to ensuring fair outcomes for claimants.
Take a leading role in how we redesign our claims journeys, striving to be the best in the market
Manage key reinsurer relationships, working alongside our reinsurance team to shape long term partnerships
Work across the business to anticipate and respond to emerging and known regulatory and reputational matters and prepare the Protection business to respond appropriately
Makes authoritative technical and/or professional recommendations that have a significant short-term and long-term impact on the business.

Strong protection medical underwriting and/or life insurance claims experience
Ability to understand, handle and optimise risks, balancing customer and commercial impacts.
Ability to work across a wide range and diverse strategic business initiatives, building enduring positive relationships.
Drive forward change and innovation within underwriting and claims, thinking creatively and implementing practical solutions.
Subject matter expertise with emerging underwriting/claims technology
