This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced clinical practitioner to play an important role in the enhancement of clinical practice in Gynaecology.


You will need to be a credible clinical practitioner with experience in providing nurse led services within Gynaecology and teaching in a formal setting.


To promote clinical excellence in Nursing within the Gynaecology Directorate, ensuring nurses are supported to develop and maintain high standards of nursing care.


You will work collaboratively with the Cley Ward Sister, Gynaecology Outpatient Sister, Clinical Specialist Nurses, Gynaecology Matron, Director of Midwifery & Women's Health & Practice Development Department to ensure nurses have the skills required for the clinical services provided.

This will include teaching, assessing & supporting the development of clinical skills in classroom & clinical environments.

The role will be clinically based and hours will be split between Clinical Educator and Ward depending on need.

To support the delivery of a high quality, safe and compassionate healthcare service.

Shifts to include early, late, nights, weekends & bank holidays.

19 hours per week

  • The role will be primarily based in clinical practice on Cley Ward & GOPD where the post holder will support staff to develop confidence & competence.
  • Act as a resource for the support and guidance of staff in the clinical field, encourage further development of their skills and to ensure cohesion and effective team working.
  • Be an expert clinical role model and offer professional advice for nurses in the clinical practice setting.
  • To ensure nurses are facilitated to develop the skills required to undertake nursing practice at the specific grade in which they are employed.
  • Facilitate change to meet patients, Trust and national expectations and standards.
  • To be a role model, provide clinical leadership which inspires and motivates others, empowering them to use knowledge and skills to support the delivery of high quality, effective, evidencebased care.
  • Maintain an up to date awareness of research and development with reference to Gynaecology nursing
  • Take the lead and act as a change agent in evidence based care.
  • Take the lead in identifying methods of implementing the necessary systems to monitor standards / quality of care delivered.
