Job summary

We are seeking an AHP Clinical Educator to support the Trust wide Lead Allied Health Professional to implement strategic intent to clinical professionalism and career progression through high quality clinical education.

Oversee of the processes and procedures that ensures the trust has a high calibre of AHP placement educators with the right skills to deliver the best possible care to patients, and in response to a changing health service.

To work closely with the Trust wide Lead AHP and Head of Learning, Education & Development to ensure that the clinical education for AHPs is influenced by clinical priorities and delivery is led and supported across the trust. The successful candidate will work with organisations in the ICB to develop and support AHP workstreams betweenorganisations to facilitate AHP learning, development, recruitment and retention and improve patient pathways and experience.

Main duties of the job

To support AHP Clinical Educators in the practice environment and develop innovative placement models for AHP be available and accessible for staff to turn to for assistance, advice, and support, onprofessional, highly sensitive issues acting as a clinical resource.

To have in-depth knowledge of clinical and professional issues, specifically related to AHP clinical education to provide leadership, advice, and support to the Trust. To implement national policy as it relates to clinical educational and professional issues. Meet with academic leads and managers to ensure AHP apprentices and trainees are meeting relevant professional and academic standards.

Support the development of Placement Educators required for effective delivery of the workforce plan. To provide AHP staff with appropriate information, advice and guidance relating to the learning opportunities provided within the Trust.

To provide advice and support for those supervising and assessing AHP students on preregistration programmes.

To support new models of practice education working with the Trust Education Lead andthe Higher Education Institutions (HEIs)

QUALIFICATIONS

Essential

Degree in Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Speech & Language Therapy, Dietetics or Arts Therapy HCPC registered Allied Health Professional Evidence of post qualifying and continuing professional development at master's level equivalent with a specific focus on AHP education.

EXPERIENCE

Essential

Experience of managing change and introducing new ways of working. Experience of working collaboratively with mental health professionals. Partnership working with other statutory and voluntary organisations including AHP Faculty and AHP strategy workstreams. Experience in relation to AHP clinical education supervision and organisation
