This is a new post created to facilitate training and provide service in benign Gynaecology due to increasing theatre capacity. The Trainee will have the opportunity to acquire competencies aligned to the ATSM/SITM in benign gynaecology and advanced excision of benign disease. They will develop a range of operative skills in open and minimal invasive surgery as well as train in advanced surgical excision of endometriosis.

Weekdays will be protected for gynaecology clinical activity (theatres and clinics) during the normal working week. It is expected that the appointee will undertake advanced surgical training during their time in post. The clinical duties will be as required by the directorate but are likely to be within the benign gynaecology services- endometriosis, benign gynaecology, menstrual disorders, & paediatric and adolescent gynecology. Appointee is expected to undertake active participation in clinical audit, research, quality, clinical guidelines/pathways, professional development, appraisal and risk management.

Further, the appointee will support the delivery of a high quality, safe and compassionate healthcare service, whereby all staff are expected to act as a role model to others in all aspects of their work and consistently demonstrate NNUH's 'PRIDE' values of People focused, Respect, Dedication, Integrity and Excellence and demonstrate behaviours that support and encourage an inclusive culture.

This post is to provide a high-quality service to our population with particular emphasis on benign gynaecology with regular clinics and surgical lists.
