JOB SUMMARY:


We have a fantastic opportunity for someone to join us in the position of Support worker in Bedford on a 4-month fixed term contract.

Clarence House in Bedford is our second homeless hostel.

This purpose-built hostel has 29 self-contained studio apartmentswith a team of support staff available 24/7, including specialist support officers to assist residents with a range of complex needs.

Your role will be a Floating support role, where you will be based out in the community and customers' homes and also sometimesattending the service.


RESPONSIBILTIES:

  • Carrying out assessments to identify and prioritise needs, developing and maintaining positive links with key stakeholders.
  • Creating an environment that promotes opportunities for customers to develop, learn and enable skills towards independence. Key work sessions.
  • Providing a comprehensive support planning service to customers in line with the department's policies, procedures and approach. Ensuring customers are fully informed of their rights and responsibilities regarding the service and are enabled and empoweredto get involved in the running of the service through consultation and participation.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Demonstrable experience of working with vulnerable adults. Experience of undertaking customer assessments, support planning and keyworking with a clear outcome focus.
  • Experience of promoting Equality & Diversity, the ability to represent the client to other agencies and companies when necessary.
  • Strong time management skills and the ability to prioritise workload, the ability to effectively communicate in writing including the preparation of letters, reports and file notes.
  • The ability to contribute to effective team working and good knowledge of IT which do include Microsoft packages
  • Word and Excel.

Also, will be required to go through an enhanced DBS check.
