The role:


We are seeking a hands-on supervisor to lead the internal exhibition stand build team, known within Nimlok as our pre-build team.

Within this role you will be responsible for a team of 9 prebuild operatives on a full time, permanent basis.

The prebuild department is one of the most important departments within the company.

The team build each exhibition stand in our custom facilities in Wellingborough before the exhibition stand is shipped for final installation across the UK and further afield.

Preparatory work includes building the stand, integrating tech and other features, and preparing the stand for shipping.


In addition, the prebuild team are deployed to complete on-site builds in the UK, EU and rest-of-world from time to time; the successful applicant may need to form part of the build team when necessary.


The role will be primarily based in Wellingborough but may require occasional travel throughout the UK and abroad in line with the needs of the business.


Exceptional leadership skills are required in this dynamic environment and marketplace where every project is different, and seasonal peaks require agile thinking and flexibility synonymous with the event industry.


Day to day responsibilities include:

  • Understanding the time, resources and equipment needed to complete each project in the given time periods.
  • Being handson whilst being responsible for the overall department activities.
  • Highlighting any areas of concerns to the Production Manager for deviation of the plan
  • Taking ownership for the prebuild team with dayto
- day line management and engagement with skilled trades people.

  • Manage the health and safety aspects of the department and the correct PPE and procedures are being followed at all times.
  • Working with technical drawings.
  • Coordinating the activities of the team, including builds at Nimlok, and onsite builds

Experience required:

  • The ability to lead and coordinate a team of skilled operatives
  • Have practical skills and comfortable with continuing to be handson
  • Have previous experience of working within a trade or construction environment
  • The ability to read and interpret technical drawings
  • Be flexible, and able to deliver efficiently using the available resources
