This role involves working on the development of a variety of products such as fibre optic components, high-power optical amplifiers, and optical transmitter sub-systems, used across multiple markets.

  • Design and develop optical and fibre-optic components, modules, and subsystems
  • Utilize fibre optic and opto-electronic components to create innovative products
  • Lead a small team of technical engineers
  • Participate actively in prototype build and testing
  • Opportunities in project management including planning and budget management

Key skills/experience required:

  • Degree or PhD in Engineering or Physics with Optics, Photonics, or Fibre optics focus
  • Previous commercial experience in product development related to fibre optics or laser products
  • Knowledge and practical experience in optical amplifiers, fibre-optics, and photonics
  • Hands-on experience in building and testing fibre-optic components or opto-electronic modules
  • Knowledge and experience in high-power fibre lasers/fibre amplifiers, non-linear optics, Photonic Integrated Circuits, Acousto-optics (desirable)
