We have an exciting opportunity for somebody with care, steer our journey as an IT Asset Team Leader who's role be responsible for providing ongoing asset management analysis and support with the ongoing objectives of optimising IT asset costs and minimising risk of loss, service failure and non-compliance.

The IT Asset Team Leader is responsible for the full lifecycle of IT assets as well as the management system and all the underpinning processes relating to asset management and asset compliance.

You will provide supportive and collaborative leadership to the department Heads, working with them to achieve deadlines, make improvements and ensure the Annual Business Plan objectives are met.

There is a choice of Leeds, London or Brighton you can chose to be based at but some nationwide travel may be necessary.

Responsibilities

About the Role:

Maintain ownership of IT asset management including software and hardware. Lead on the ongoing development and support of the IT Asset Base within the ITSM. Line management of the IT Assets & Purchasing team. Work with the Head of Digital Service Operations to identify areas of improvement for asset management and asset compliance. Establish operational metrics for measuring the performance of the asset management function. Define, maintain, and update policies and procedures for effective asset life cycle management (acquisition, deployment, utilization, de-installation, reallocation and disposal) of IT assets. Work closely with Finance as part of the asset management process including budget allocation and re-charging. Ensure device compliance across the CGL estate through proactive reporting. Develop and maintain the underpinning IT asset management and asset compliance processes. Gathering quotes and the purchasing of IT assets for BAU and project workstreams.

About You:

Experience of managing assets in a medium to large organisation. Knowledge of and experience implementing ITAM processes and policies. Experience of using ITSMs to manage incidents and requests relating to asset management and compliance. Experience of using and developing an ITAM tool or module to manage hardware assets across the lifecycle. Strong written and oral communication skills. Familiarity with ITIL processes. Excellent stakeholder management skills including a proven ability to manage and set the expectations of a diverse set of stakeholders. The ability to produce procedures and supporting documentation. Excellent communication, planning and organising skills. Experience of line-managing a small team of technical and non-technical staff. Able to prioritise effectively based on organisational impact and urgency. The ability to work with minimum supervision at times.

Desirable Criteria

Experience of Microsoft Intune. Knowledge of ISO27001 standards.

Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field Experience of leading an IT/Digital function in a large, multi-location organisation Experience of delivering large scale IT change Experience of project management approaches, and making them fit to the organisation's context

Abilities and Skills:

Able to work at fast pace in a dynamic environment. Able to communicate across the organisation to all colleagues, and external stakeholders. Strong leadership skills to develop and lead the IT teams.

Desirable criteria:

Experience in using new technologies to make real change. Technical qualification (. MCP, MCSE, Prince2, Agile, ITIL).
