Business Development Manager - Hazardous Waste

The BusinessDevelopment Manager in our Hazardous Waste division is key insupporting the hazardous waste transfer station in winning newbusiness in and around the proximity of our infrastructure.

As a high quality salesperson you will work closely with the localdepot and regional management team and Head of Sales, to source andimplement high quality hazardous waste business wins, driving asignificant impact on local depot revenues and profitability.

TheSpecialist Services division focuses upon delivering waste managementsolutions to businesses in the manufacturing and distribution channelsand the ideal candidate will have experience and understanding ofthese business sectors. The Specialist Services offer requires theBusiness Development Manager to propose strategic solutions thatencompass continuous improvement, cost saving, best practice andenvironmental sustainability – as such, the role suits a solutionsoriented, agile commercial lead who is focused on creating value forclients.

  • Representing the business unit positively to allstakeholders, presenting a best in class perception for SpecialistServices
  • Supporting and where appropriate responding totenders and requests for information in a timely manner whileeffectively interacting with other departments including the accountmanagement and internal teams when handing over new customers ensuringfull and correct communications in all aspects of the sale.

  • Sales and developmentexperience, in a comparable field-based business development role.
  • Experience in achieving clearly defined key performanceindicators.
  • Waste industry knowledge including relevantlaws would be advantageous.
  • Experience of Bid writing wouldbe advantageous along with the ability to respond to tenderingdocumentation.
  • Numerical mindset with the skill tounderstand numerical data.
  • Computer literate with a strongknowledge of Microsoft Software such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • The ability to digest and analyse date at pace.
  • Agile, solutions focused development skillset.
  • Experience of building and maintaining customer relationships.
  • The ability to communicate with conviction, plan withprecision and, most importantly, play well with others.
