Summary

St Bede's Catholic Primary school is an inclusive, welcoming and caring school. We have 205 pupils on roll aged between 3 and 11 years. We are situated in beautiful, extensive grounds with a forest school, pond, allotment and garden areas and playing field. As part of our extended services, there is a Nursery, Breakfast Club and After School Club.

We are looking to appoint a well-motivated, reliable and hardworking site supervisor who ideally has experience of site maintenance or a related trade.

We are a committed and happy team that work hard to achieve and improve upon the high standard valued by the school.

In this respect, the post of Site Supervisor is considered a main post which contributes to the school's overall high standards of achievement.


The working hours will be a split shift: 30hpw - Monday to Friday 07.00am to 10:00am and 3:00pm to 6:15pm.


On a few occasions during the year, there is a need to be flexible in terms of start and finish times.

For example, when there is a Parents' Evening or school event. This will require the site supervisor to open / close as additional hours.

Essential Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 2 qualification in Caretaking (or equivalent experience)
  • Full driving licence
Desirable Qualifications

You will have:

  • A keen eye for detail to ensure our facilities are clean, safe and well maintained.
  • A courteous manner in dealing with members of the public and contractors
  • The ability to identify work priorities and manage their own workload, whilst ensuring that lower priority work is kept up to date.
Essential Experience

  • Experience of undertaking manual tasks (eg. maintenance, DIY), using powered tools and equipment, within the reasonable capacity of a normal handyperson.
  • Experience of securityrelated duties
  • Basic DIY/repairs
  • Awareness of Health and Safety Issues
  • Awareness of COSHH
Desirable Experience

  • Experience of supervising staff
  • Experience of security related duties
  • Ability to use relevant tools and equipment
