Business Support Team Leader:

At London Borough of Tower Hamlets we are looking to recruit to a 1 x full time Permanent Business Support Team Leader.

The postholder will be expected to be working both physically from the office/s and some remote working will also be included.


As the Business Support Team Leader you will provide overarching support and direction to the Schools Business Support Teams and the stakeholders to ensure the continued and improved delivery of high-quality Business Support service is maintained.


You will take a lead on working to improve the provision of its outputs by ceasing of duplication of efforts, standardising and streamlining of process and procedures.

You will oversee and manage the Schools Business Support Teams to ensure the SLA outputs are being delivered to agreed performance standards.

You will be solution focused person who is responsive, agile, and works efficiently with a strong focus on becoming more digitally enabled and adopting better ways of working.

This is a generic JD and a varied job role, requiring working under pressure and meeting tight deadlines.

To be considered for the role, you will have demonstrable experience of all-around leadership and management skills, and must have:

  • Experience of leading and managing several teams
  • Excellent organisational and administrative skills
  • The ability to work under pressure in a busy office whilst paying attention to detail, and producing work of consistently high standard within tight deadlines
  • Experience of working with Office 365 packages
  • Demonstrable experience of being solution focused
  • Ability to manage expectation and strong negotiation and influencing skills
  • Demonstrable experience of being output driven in meeting the performance standards from the service level agreement and supporting a culture of accountability and transparency.
