SPECIALTY DOCTOR in Adult ADHD and Autism Service.
The post is based at Manygates Clinic, Belle Isle Health Park, Portobello Road, Wakefield, WF1 5PN.
It is a Fixed Term post until 31 March 2025.

South West Yorkshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust Adult ADHD and Autism Service is looking to recruit a high calibre Specialty Doctor.

Were looking for a Specialty Doctor to work with our Adult ADHD and Autism Service based in Manygates Clinic in Wakefield.

This post will only work in the Autism Pathway.

As a senior member of the team, you will have an excellent opportunity to help shape our services and drive change within the organisation and you will be well supported by the senior leadership team.

You would have spent a minimum of four years (full time or equivalent) in postgraduate training in the UK or equivalent training.

Of these at least 1 years training in Adult Psychiatry or be able to demonstrable achievement of the necessary equivalent experience and competencies.

We are a specialist NHS Foundation Trust that provides community, mental health and learning disability services for the people of Barnsley, Calderdale, Kirklees and Wakefield.

We also provide low and medium secure services and are the lead for the west Yorkshire secure provider collaborative.

MB BS or equivalent medical qualification.

Qualification or higher degree in medical education, clinical research, or management.
Training in diagnostic instruments specific to Autism such as DIVA, CAADID.

Spent a minimum of four years (full time or equivalent) in postgraduate training in the UK or equivalent medical experience.

At least two years experience in adult psychiatry or shall have equivalent experience and competencies.

Experience in General Adult psychiatry is desirable. Equivalent experience is acceptable, if appropriate competencies can be demonstrated and with agreement of the medical director.
Experience working in other medical specialties including general medicine, geriatric medicine, and A& E.

Excellent clinical skills using bio-psycho-social perspective and wide medical knowledge.
Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
Undertaken research at undergraduate or postgraduate level.
Previous evidence of an interest in, or a commitment to psychiatry.
Academic Skills & Lifelong Learning
Able to deliver undergraduate or postgraduate teaching and training.
Participate in continuous professional development.
Able to plan and deliver undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and training relevant to this post.
Experience in clinical research and / or service evaluation.
Demonstrate emotional intelligence and leadership skills.
Ability to relate with non-medical staff effectively.
Interest in psychiatry and desire to explore this career option.

Has cared for close family / friend with mental health needs.

Holds and will use valid UK driving licence.
