Senior Clinical Practitioner Job Opportunity at Specialty NHS Foundation Trust

The team provides intensive support for service users over the age of 65 with functional and/or organic mental health diagnoses.

  • We have a vacancy for a Senior Clinical Practitioner, welcoming applications from Registered Nurses, Occupational Therapists, or Social Workers.

Main Duties of the Job:

The successful practitioner will work within the remit of the band 6 Senior Clinical Practitioner job description, undertaking crisis assessments, formulating support plans for service users, and acting as a gatekeeper for admissions to the ward when necessary.

You will need to have strong engagement skills with service users, family, friends, and carers. Additionally, there will be opportunities for role development within the team and to support and mentor junior staff members.

Job Responsibilities:

The Senior Clinical Practitioner is responsible for skilled interventions for people with mental health issues in the community. Key result areas include team caseload management, leadership, and participation in service development.

  • Assessment of needs and problem identification.
  • Plan of care development in partnership with individuals and carers.

Person Specification:

Special Knowledge/Skills

Essential:

  • Working knowledge of relevant government legislation.
  • Partnership working skills.
  • IT system proficiency.

Desirable:

  • Skill in specialist areas such as dual diagnosis or peri-natal mental health.

Physical Attributes:

  • Demonstrated ability to meet the demands of the role.
  • Satisfactory sickness record over the previous 2 years.

Qualifications:

  • Current registration in relevant professional bodies.
  • Mentorship experience.
  • Practice Placement Educator experience.
