Hunter Savage are delighted to be supporting a large, well established NI employer, headquartered in Belfast City centre, to recruit a Senior People Partner for their high performing HR Operations Team.

This is a new, permanent, Senior People Partner/HR Business Partner job, reporting to the Head of HR Operations and the role offers full time hours and a very attractive salary and benefits package.

The successful Senior People Partner will enjoy working as part of a very busy team, supporting the development and implementation of operational HR strategies across the company.

Providing proactive, value added HR solutions, driving innovation and change, leading and supporting capability, performance and engagement are pivotal in order to success in this Senior People Partner role.

A minimum of 3-5 years Senior HR experience within a large, complex organisation is essential and the close date for the role is Thursday 20 th June 2024 at 10 am.

The Role

  • Strategic development and business/people partnering
  • Advise on and contribute to the development of the strategic planning and operational decision making of the Senior management teams
  • Translate business needs, HR goals and strategies into HR performance objectives
  • Support delivery of goals, strategies and objectives
  • Work with Senior Managers in areas such as strategic workforce planning, performance management, redeployment, data analytics to help inform business decisions
  • Support effective management of people issues
  • Work extensively, consulting and collaborating with the Head of ER, Unions and Managers
  • Monitor and assess policies, procedures and practices relating to employee relations, contributing to the continuous improvement and development of best practices
  • Manage employee relations in a positive and proactive manner, taking the lead advisory role on complex employment relations such as grievance, disciplinary and dignity at work
  • Develop and manage effective relationships both within the business as well as those external bodies
  • HR solutions implementation
  • Scope and change existing HR policies and practices to seek to continuously improve the services
  • Provide HR contribution to projects
  • Manage and support operational and cultural change programmes and initiatives
  • Develop and deliver improvements to working practices and support change management programmes

The Person

Essential

  • Degree level qualification with a minimum of 3 years relevant Senior HR experience in a large, complex organisation

OR

  • If no Degree, a minimum of 5 years relevant Senior HR experience in a large, complex organisation
  • At least 3 years relevant Senior HR experience in a unionised environment working on the following: strategic workforce planning, recruitment, retention, talent and performance management, trade unions, employee relations, attendance management, delivery of change projects
  • Experience of managing complex ER cases
  • Experience of using MS Office packages
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Experience of transformational change projects

Desirable

  • CIPD qualified
  • Experience of managing a team
  • Experience of working within a manufacturing/operations/construction organisation
  • Experience of contract negotiation, changes in terms and conditions
