Salary:
The starting salary is £45,073 which includes allowances totalling £2,841.


The salary is broken down as £42,232 basic salary, which will increase annually until you reach the top of the scale £50,385 Plus, a location allowance of £1,841 and a non-pensionable allowance of £1,000.


Location:
Hub location, either Hendon or Sidcup. We actively support blended working solutions.

Shift Allowance:
Not at this time - But a shift allowance may be considered for this role in the future.

The Commissioner and Management Board have determined that the Met will be a data driven organisation.

This means treating our data in the same way we treat our people, methods and technology, as a strategic asset.

The Data Office is the single place of accountability across the Met that:

  • Owns and drives the data compliance and analytics agenda.
  • Brings together the accountabilities that are currently dispersed across the Met business areas.
  • Consolidates and further develops existing Met data and insight services.
  • Enables data sharing and collaboration to serve the public and external partners.

Job Purpose


They are responsible for supervising the Data Rights Managers, their teams in support of this work and report direct to the Head of Data Rights.

Additional Information


A vetting level of CTC is required, all applicants must be willing to undertake Security Clearance (SC) once in post.

Please provide evidence to support your knowledge, ability and work within the Data Rights space, especially experience with legislation such as the Data Protection Act and Freedom of Information Act.

Essential Criteria:

  • Understanding of the Data Protection Act, UK-General Data Protection Regulation Act and Freedom of Information Act.
  • Knowledge of associated legislation and policies relevant to Information Law, including Data Ethics.
  • Awareness of the Human Rights Act 1998, European Convention on Human Rights and how it relates to work in these areas.
  • The ability to articulate complex information law requirements in a clear and user friendly format.
  • Excellent communication and negotiating skills to resolve issues.
  • Proven ability to work within a pressurised environment, be resilient and prioritise competing requirements effectively.

Desirable Criteria:

Any qualifications in any legislation relevant to role.
