Job Overview

We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated Receptionist to join the Women's and Children's Division at Whipps Cross University Hospital, which is part of Bart's Health NHS Trust. This role provides an exciting opportunity to be part of the Breast department at Whipps Cross University Hospital. The post holder will handle daily reception duties at the busy clinic and ensure compliance with cancer treatment targets. Building strong working relationships with the Clinic Manager, Breast surgeons, Nursing staff, and imaging team is a key aspect of this position.

The successful candidate should have experience in managing reception in an outpatient environment and will be responsible for responding to inquiries via email and telephone while delivering high-quality customer service based on our WeCare values. Additionally, the role involves establishing and overseeing efficient administration and business systems to support the directorate in providing an effective and professional communications service.

In return, we offer opportunities for skill development through formal and on-the-job training. The primary work location will be Whipps Cross Hospital, with potential requirements to visit other hospitals within the Trust for work or training purposes.

This is a full-time position requiring 37.5 hours per week, from Monday to Friday.

Main Duties of the Job

  • The Breast Clinic at Whipps Cross Hospital serves as the primary point of contact for many patients who may feel anxious about their visit. It is essential for our reception staff to provide a friendly, efficient, and effective service to ensure a positive experience for these patients.
  • Dealing with the 18 Weeks pathway initiative, receptionists play a crucial role in recording all activity on CRS to support patient care and Trust income generation from the relevant PCT.
