To hold a small caseload for a number of families within the unit, taking primary responsibility for coordinating these assessments and support plans and assistingin the implementation of key day-to-day tasks of the establishment.
There may sometimes be a need to complete community and viability assessments. This will include responsibility for the welfare of the residents, managing staff, the admissions, the completion of reports, representation to Local Authorities and at panels, Conference meetings and Strategy Meetings, Legal Planning meetings and attending Court as and when necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION- Minimum BA in Social Work Studies.
- SWE Registration
- Experience working with Children and families
- Evidence of ongoing personal development training.
- Demonstrate commitment to continuing professional development.
- Recent Paediatric First Aid certificate.
- Safeguarding Children and Vulnerable Adults training.
- Experience in working with children, young people and adults.
- Experience working in partnership with parents, multi-agencies and relevant stakeholders.
- Knowledge of legislation, regulations and guidance relevant to working with vulnerable adults and
- children such as 'Working together to safeguard children: statutory guidance on inter-agency working
- to safeguard and promote the welfare of children', Care Act 2014, Childcare Act 2006, Residential
- Family Centres Regulations 2002, Residential family centres: national minimum standards
- Knowledge of child development and children's needs.
- Ability to work with parents/carers/families and professionals to encourage partnership working.
- Ability to communicate well with adults and children.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Ability to write legibly.
- Good presentation skills.
- Possess a level of general computer literacy with a range of IT skills.
- Good organisational skills.
- Ability to demonstrate creative abilities.
- Promote equality and value diversity by interpreting equality, diversity and rights in accordance
- with legislation, policies and procedures and relevant standards.
- Identify patterns of discrimination and take actions to overcome this and enable others to promote
- quality and diversity and a non-discriminatory culture that supports people in exercising their rights.
