Job Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Qualified Social Worker to join our Assessment and Intervention Team at Oldham Council.

The successful candidate will be responsible for working with children and families to assess and intervene in situations where there are concerns about their welfare.

The team is part of a newly improved Local Authority that has invested in more teams across various service areas to ensure they continue to be a diverse community within Greater Manchester.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of child protection and family support principles, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct assessments and interventions with children and families
  • Develop and implement plans to support children and families
  • Work collaboratively with other professionals to ensure effective support
  • Provide guidance and support to colleagues

Requirements:

  • Qualified Social Worker or equivalent
  • Experience working with children and families
  • Strong understanding of child protection and family support principles
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
