Job Purpose
To lead the strategic marketing function for Lucy Electric globally. To focus on supporting the business with data driven market intelligence, competitive activity market dynamics and sector focused intelligence.


This function will allow to better understand the landscapes in which we operate and the markets in which we would like to enter.

It will give us a standard methodology of studying markets and market potential and opportunities. This role will be a senior member of the EMS marketing team will potentially support additional market intelligence activity in other areas of the Lucy Group

Job Context


The management of this function is a strategically important role in that it separates the market intelligence, market dynamics and competitive activity roles from the sales organization and gives the business an objective and data driven view of markets and opportunities, potentially in areas where we may have no knowledge.


Job Dimensions
The role will be home based primarily with regular visits to the closest Lucy Electric operating facility.

Visits to other Lucy Electric offices, manufacturing units and customers will be required as will supporting exhibitions and events both in the UK and overseas locations.


Responsibilities

  • Lead the definition of the business strategy in collaboration with the leadership team and act as a sparring partner on key strategic growth topics.
  • Proactively challenge the status quo and offer alternative options and scenarios to increase the value creation potential of the business.
  • Lead the Strategic Marketing function with full ownership of Global Strategic Marketing activities and ensure the function has the required capabilities and resources.
  • Lead and contribute towards key strategic marketing and crossbusiness projects, with senior oversight towards strategic planning activities.
  • Provide highquality data and insights to drive business decisionmaking, supporting tangible business benefits and growth.
  • Design and create a standard methodology and framework of reporting and analysis.
  • Investigate new and potential opportunities in sectors, markets and geographies based on agreed parameters.
  • Act as a thought leader and professionalise the approach towards Strategic Marketing, build and develop capabilities across the business through best practice sharing.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and connect people for crossbusiness collaboration.
  • Educate and drive adoption of the use of data driven market intelligence to support sales and business development.
  • Coach, motivate and develop colleagues across relevant teams and functions.

Qualifications, Experience & Skills

Minimum Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience:

  • Minimum +10 years' experience in strategic marketing, business development/strategic roles ideally within industrial companies and related markets
  • Bachelors/ Masters degree in engineering and/or Business
