Job Summary
  • To shape and prioritize research and innovation proposals.

The time commitment for the role will be 4 meetings per year, plus associated preparatory work, depending on meeting schedules and working group/subgroup requirements.

Main Duties of the Job
  • Provide exceptional leadership and motivational skills, summarizing collective committee opinions clearly.
  • Progress and develop Research, Evaluation, and Audit within the NHS Screening Programme.
  • Ensure RIDAC's recognition in the NHS screening field.
  • Bring relevant expertise to provide high-quality advice to NHS England.
  • Be responsive to committee secretariat for quick turnaround.
  • Collaborate with partners for secure, lawful, and transparent information sharing.
  • Ensure compliance with all governance requirements.
About Us

RIDAC advises NHSE Director of Screening on research, innovation, development, and evaluation activities related to the Bowel Screening Programme. Members decide whether to support research/evaluation by considering its impact on NHS pathways and necessary NHS support. Concerns are escalated to the Delivery Group for discussion.

Office-based colleagues are expected to work in-person for at least 40% of their time.

Job Responsibilities

RIDAC plays a vital role in enhancing NHS Screening Programmes by advising on research, evaluation, and audit requests. Candidates should have experience in chairing multidisciplinary groups, understanding NHS screening programmes, and health service research.

Chairing 4 meetings per year is required, alongside preparation, reporting, strategic direction setting, and other necessary activities. Remuneration follows NHSE policy.
