The Paid Social team focuses on planning and executing top-notch social advertising campaigns for our clients across different social media platforms. We are a team of around 35 individuals handling diverse clients like Audible, Paramount & Colgate. Situated at Wavemaker's office at Sea Containers, our team strives for excellence.

Introduction to the role:

We are seeking a paid social expert to step into the role of Account Director. This individual will take charge of the day-to-day paid social activities for a busy client account (or accounts) and will supervise a team of junior staff handling the daily operations of the account. Prior experience in managing a team of social experts, preferably in an agency setting, would be advantageous. The ideal candidate should have a deep understanding of paid advertising across all major social channels such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Snap, TikTok, among others.

Key Responsibilities:

Account Directors oversee the daily paid social activities of one or more client accounts, focusing on essential areas including:

  • Overseeing the creation of comprehensive paid social media plans that align with client objectives and KPIs. Capable of clearly explaining the rationale behind proposed campaign tactics (channels, budget, audience, formats, etc.) and effectively presenting these to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Supervising a team responsible for setting up paid social campaigns across relevant social platforms. Proficient in troubleshooting and training junior team members on advanced features and tools.
  • Maintaining the quality of regular quality assurance checks to ensure campaigns adhere to best practices. Assisting in refining these practices when necessary.
  • Ensuring the accuracy of weekly/monthly campaign performance reports and providing valuable insights and recommendations to clients. Identifying trends and suggesting necessary actions to capitalize on or mitigate these trends.
  • Managing end-of-campaign reporting and leading research projects as requested by the client.

About You:

Experience in a dynamic agency or client-side social team is vital for this role. We are looking for a candidate who portrays the following qualities:

  • Extensive experience in setting up and optimizing paid social campaigns across major social platforms. Certifications in platforms like Meta Blueprint would be advantageous.
  • Experience in planning large-scale paid social campaigns across brand and direct-response objectives.
  • Proven track record of working closely with clients and external partners. Establishing strong relationships is crucial for this role, with the ability to confidently present to clients.
  • Experience in managing teams, overseeing day-to-day workloads effectively, and training junior team members in paid social tasks.
  • A teamwork-oriented approach is essential, along with a collaborative and positive attitude.
