Breakthrough in Education are looking for an inspirational and creative SEND teaching assistants to work in a SEND setting in the Bury St Edmunds area.


Working as a learning support assistant is a fantastic way for any motivated and enthusiastic aspiring educational psychologists to gain experience within the field of SEND education.

This role could help you in your future search for educational psychology roles.

This role is in a mixed ability class including students with Autism, Global Development Delay and Down Syndrome. You will be working in a strong and positive team environment with other learning support assistants.

With a pupil focused approach to education within the class, these pupils will have their own educational learning goals, you will be expected to work with the teacher and the pupils to help them achieve their goals.

Increasing self-efficacy, life skills, confidence and positivity are at the heart of this role.

  • Passionate about delivering the highest quality care and learning for children with a range of Mild, Complex Needs and Severe Learning Difficulties.
  • Motivated, enthusiastic, and adaptable individuals who want to make a difference in children's lives

What the role entails

  • Working in a team to facilitate safe and successful learning.
  • Individualising your approach to each child in order to best support their learning.
  • Using play as an important aspect to learning in SEND pupils.
  • Ensuring that safeguarding standards are met.
  • Using creativity to enhance the learning experiences of pupils.
