This role is term time only (39 weeks) and part time working 30 hours per week from 7.30pm Monday to Friday.

To organise and supervise the school kitchen in accordance with and to the standard required by statutory regulations.

  • To be responsible for the preparation, cooking and service of food.
  • To provide and maintain a high standard of catering in the school.
  • To ensure catering areas of the school are prepared for relevant use, as directed.
City & Guilds 706/2 or S/NVQ Level 3 in Food Preparation and cooking

  • Basic Food Hygiene Certificate
  • Experience of working in the catering industry
  • Experience of producing freshly prepared food
  • The Heights is a Key Stage
  • Key Stage 4 Alternative Provision School for young people, many of whom have found it difficult to be successful in a mainstream school.

At Key Stage 2 & 3, the focus is on supporting young people to return to a mainstream school.

At Key Stage 4, we focus on providing the opportunity for students to gain qualifications on par with mainstream schools and with the skills needed to ensure a successful transition to college, training or employment.

Pupils are taught in small groups, where they study the core curriculum and receive the extra support they require.

In addition to the core curriculum, we provide rich and varied curriculum opportunities ranging from vocational courses and academic programmes that support pupils' personal and social development.
