Purpose of Position


To coordinate the care staff by matching the correct carer to client by managing care staff rotas, availability, sickness and annual leave and ensuring all clients receive the correct package of care in efficient runs.

Responsible for organising Domiciliary, Live-in and Waking Nights staff.

Person Requirements

  • Previous experience in a care coordination role or similar within the homecare sector.
  • Experience in managing rosters/rotas and using care planning software.
  • Excellent organisational and multitasking abilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations and quality standards in homecare.
  • Ability to work flexibly and handle emergencies.
  • Positive cando attitude.

Work pattern to be:

  • Monday-Thursday: 8:00 to 16:30.
  • Friday: 8:00 to 16:00.

Desirable

  • Previous experience using 'CarePlanner' Software.
  • NVQ Level 3 in Social Care.

Spire Homecare are a leading private homecare business based in Salisbury, and we're currently seeking a dedicated and organised Care Coordinator to join our team.

This role involves managing the schedules of our care staff, managing live-in carers and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.


Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and manage the schedules of homecare staff to ensure optimal service delivery to clients. Acting as planner to creating and managing rosters/rotas on the care planning software 'CarePlanner'.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, families, and care staff in Salisbury who query or amend call times.
  • Scheduling rotas includes managing gaps due to Annual Leave or Sickness.
  • Responsible for logging Care Staff Annual Leave.
  • Creating 'Availability' schedules with new care staff.
  • Add shadow shifts onto rota for new care staff.
  • Forward plan rotas at least 7 days ahead.
  • Notify management team if there are future concerns on the rota with availability or staffing.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations and quality standards.
  • Maintain accurate records and prepare reports on care staff availability for capacity reviews.
  • Liaise with healthcare professionals and external agencies as required.
  • Bid on new packages of care released by Wiltshire Council, understanding how the new call times fit with current rota and our care capacity.

Live-in Care:

  • Act as the lead coordinator for carers providing a livein service, ensuring smooth operations and highquality care.
  • Weekly telephone checkins with staff.
  • Organise introduction meetings between client and carer.
  • Primary point of contact for clients, families, and Livein care staff.
