London South Bank University (LSBU) is seeking to appoint an Events Officer who will be responsible for supporting the delivery of an exciting programme of events to enhance both the corporate reputation and recruitment potential of the University, all of which supports the University's Corporate Strategy.


Duties span the full range of event management activity, from securing dates, venues and speakers, to management of invitation groups, hosting of special guests and regularly innovating and improving our event delivery experience.


Key Responsibilities for the Events Officer:

  • Take responsibility for logístical arrangements relating to in-person and online events, including room and hospitality bookings, technical support and liaison with external and internal suppliers and service providers
  • Coordinate all aspects of the set up of in person and online events, including setting up relevant online platforms
  • Coordinate appropriate signage and decoration for in person events, relevant promotional material and equipment
  • Ensure appropriate and relevant staff are at events
  • Updating relevant stakeholders on the progress of events
  • Liaise with internal Content and Creative team as well as external production companies to produce relevant event resources and collateral
  • Monitor bookings for events
  • Train Student Ambassadors to assist with events delivery
  • Produce regular reports relating to events such as collating survey feedback and analysing booking and attendance trends
  • Maintain a record of budget spend against events, advising on deficiencies.

About you


The post-holder will contribute fresh and innovative ideas to the events, ensuring the successful delivery of these, and coordinate logístical arrangements for the delivery of events.

The events programme will be agreed annually and will be based on objectives which underpin the LSBU Corporate Strategy.

It will include, but not be limited to, large scale student recruitment events such as Open Days and supporting Graduation.


We are seeking to appoint an energetic, enthusiastic and creative developing events professional with experience of working at large scale events, highly practiced organisational skills and a passion for delivering events which are based on delivering engaging experiences and amplify key brand messages.


Ideal skills and experience:

  • Experience of working on large scale events
  • Knowledge of the needs of those considering and pursuing university study
  • Excellent organisational skills including the ability to time manage, work under pressure and coordinate aspects of large scale projects
  • Excellent communication and ability to work with stakeholders of differing levels
  • Excellent writing skills

Details about the role
Full-time, permanent. 35 hours per week. Hybrid working with typically 3-days a week on campus, or as events require,


Please note that the University is operating a hybrid working model which means a mix of working on site and from home, confirmation of days worked on campus are arranged with the line manager.
