Falcon Green is currently looking for a Health & Safety Officer to join a well-established main contractor in Cambridge. You'll be involved in a cutting-edge £116 million mixed-use development project that will last until 2025, with more exciting projects in the pipeline.

As an experienced Health & Safety Officer familiar with construction sites, your main task will be to ensure strict compliance with health and safety regulations during the construction phase.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and monitor health and safety policies, procedures, and practices on site.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety legislation and standards.
  • Carry out regular risk assessments and site inspections to spot potential hazards and take corrective actions.
  • Deliver health and safety training to all site workers, ensuring everyone understands their duties and follows best practices.
  • Lead investigations into incidents or near misses, pinpoint root causes, and apply preventive measures.
  • Maintain precise records of health and safety activities, incidents, and compliance, reporting to senior management when necessary.
  • Collaborate with site managers, contractors, and external entities to foster a safety culture and ensure effective communication of health and safety matters.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Must have NEBOSH certification or equivalent. Preferably a member of IOSH.
  • At least 5 years of experience in a health and safety position within the construction sector, with a focus on large residential projects.
  • Sound knowledge of health and safety regulations, exceptional communication and training abilities, and the skill to influence and engage with a diverse team.
  • Dedication to promoting a safe work environment.
