To continue on our mission at scale, we're looking for a Head of Payments on a 12 month fixed term contract to represent Cleo's payments vision and strategy.

What You'll Be Doing:
  • Representing Cleo's Payments Vision: Act as the face of payments at Cleo, responsible for defining and measuring payment success metrics, and regularly reporting progress to senior leadership.
  • Strategizing Payment Solutions: Lead the development and execution of a comprehensive payments strategy to enhance transaction efficiency and ensure regulatory compliance within the US payments landscape.
  • Collaboration with Partnerships Team: Work closely with the Partnerships team to stay informed about upcoming developments and trends in payments, ensuring Cleo remains at the forefront of payment innovations.
  • Oversight of Payment Infrastructure: Directly oversee the design and implementation of both front-end payment experiences and back-end payment infrastructure, ensuring a seamless, secure, and user-friendly process for customers.
  • Driving Multi-Year Strategy: Assist in the follow-up, and enhancement of a multi-year payments strategy, setting clear objectives for the growth and scalability of payment operations.
  • Enabling Products Across Cleo: Empower and collaborate with various teams across Cleo to accelerate the integration of payment components into new and existing products.
About You (Must Have):
  • Expertise in the US Payments Landscape: In-depth understanding of and passion for the evolving US payments ecosystem: ACH, RTP, and FedNOW are familiar concepts to you.
  • Strategic Planning Skills: Proven experience in developing and executing comprehensive payments strategies with measurable success.
  • Leadership and Collaboration: Strong leadership abilities with a track record of fostering collaboration across different teams and departments.
  • Systems Thinking: Ability to think at both a high level and in detail, demonstrating a strong aptitude for systems thinking in designing and optimizing payment processes.
About You (Nice to Have):
  • Technical Proficiency: Hands-on experience with payment processing platforms, systems, and technologies used in the payments industry.
  • Data Science Familiarity: Experience working with data science applications and teams, leveraging analytics and insights to inform payments strategy and fraud prevention.
  • Fintech Space Experience: Previous experience in the fintech space, understanding the dynamics of financial technologies and how they can be leveraged to improve payment processes for financial products.

  • 30-45 minute phone call with Jamie from the Talent Team
  • 45-minute video call with Marika Causer, our Head of Risk & Payments
  • 60-minute video call with two Senior members of the team. We'll ask you to work on a task in preparation for this call, and ask you to prepare a 15-minute presentation.
  • 60-minute CV & past experience interview
  • 30-minute stakeholder management interview
