Sue Ross Recruitment are working with a charity organisation who are within the leisure and entertainment sector.

Working with the Marketing and Communication team you will produce outstanding creative content across various digital platforms.


The successful applicant will use creative thinking to build a narrative, whilst having commercial awareness to curate content that is on-brand and eye-catching.

A high-level of written skills, creativity and attention to detail are needed for creating, writing, and publishing content for internal and external digital channels.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage social media channels and responding to followers and direct messages.
  • Create live and scheduled content such as images, stories, reels, threads, polls and giveaways on a range of social media platforms to engage with customers.
  • Document events through photography, short videos and blogs for a variety of digital platforms.
  • Manage social media PPC advertising campaigns.
  • Maintain and build relations with advocates, bloggers and social media influencers.
  • Analyse social media activity and effectiveness using a range of tools, creating regular reports to showcase results.
  • Use digital marketing techniques to innovative and creative ways and encourage engagement with audience members.
  • Maintain the CRM database to ensure the optimum number of active contactable customers.
  • Compile regular reports on campaign activity and effectiveness.
  • Use a Content Management System (CMS) to accurately update the organisation's website including uploading film copy, images, data, blogs, news items, job vacancies and other minor amendments.
  • Liaise with film distributors and external partners to collate assets and information including sourcing logos, images, copy, merchandise and contributed budget.
  • Create bespoke assets for digital platforms to entertain, educate, and inspire audiences.
  • Ensure that all customer data is stored securely and correctly in line with current GDPR legislations.
  • Support the delivery of marketing and communications across departments and partner organisations as required and provide assistance where necessary.
  • Gain a working knowledge of existing and emerging digital marketing developments.

Person Specification

Essential requirements
Level 6 qualification or equivalent, or provable related experience.

  • Experience of working in a marketing role or content creation role.
  • Experience of writing for different audiences.
  • Significant experience in using and creating content for social media platforms.
  • Experience of implementing planned and live social media activity.
  • Experience of working with marketing data and an awareness of data protection.
  • Experience of using website Content Management Systems.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills, with a high level of written English e.g. copywriting, grammar, proofreadi
  • Knowledge and understanding of social media as a marketing tool, and experience of updating content for digital platforms and analysing their effectiveness.
  • Skills in photography and using design software.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy across all areas of work.
  • Ability to work under pressure, multitask and prioritise workload to achieve targets and deadlines.
  • Excellent IT skills including MS Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Good interpersonal and presentation skills.
  • Reliability and punctuality.
  • Ability to work as part of a team, building relationships with a range of stakeholders and working collaboratively across all business areas.
  • To be highly motivated and able to keep abreast of existing and emerging online communication/marketing technologies and identify opportunities for improvement.

Desirable requirements

  • Experience of working in a marketing role within the arts and cultural sector.
  • A strong interest in cultural activities and/or cinema.
  • Experience of working with Google Analytics.
  • Experience of placing paid adverts on social media.
  • Experience of using video editing and design software.
  • Recognised marketing or journalism qualification.
  • Experience of marketing to both B2B and B2C customers
