Role Title:
Director - Prudential Regulation Legal Counsel

Location:
London, UK

What will you be doing:

  • Serve as a legal advisor on UK and EU prudential regulation, focusing on regulatory capital, liquidity, and related requirements.
  • Interact with internal and external stakeholders to ensure compliance with prudential requirements and regulatory expectations.
  • Collaborate with key peers and support colleagues across the Legal function on prudential regulatory issues.
  • Provide expertise on regulatory capital and liquidity positions to Finance, Treasury, and relevant business areas.
  • Act as the coverage lawyer for prudential regulation laws, rules, and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Advise on UK and EU prudential regulation legal matters and ensure comprehensive legal coverage.
  • Support stakeholders in interpreting laws, guidance, and regulatory expectations related to regulatory capital and liquidity.
  • Engage with regulatory authorities and support stakeholders in regulatory change projects.
  • Assist in meeting the requirements of regulatory regimes and developing initiatives related to prudential regulation issues.
  • Manage relationships with external counsel and oversee legal support provision.
  • Attend relevant internal governance committees and improve internal governance processes.
  • Stay informed about legal developments and support knowledge sharing within the organization.

Requirements:
  • Qualified UK Lawyer with deep knowledge of UK and EU prudential regulation.
  • Strong technical legal skills and ability to work effectively under pressure.
