Job Introduction
We are looking for a
Healthy Family Support Worker to join our friendly Lancashire 0-19 Parenting Team.


You will provide targeted support for children and families, in line with competencies, as delegated by a SCPHN/ Team Leader and members of the wider team.

You will undertake the National Child Measurement Programme (NCMP) with children in Reception and Year 6.

Main Responsibilities

As a Healthy Family Support Worker within HCRG Care Group you'll join a team who are focused on clinical excellence and positive outcomes for children and families.


Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Work proactively and enthusiastically with parents and children to encourage uptake of service provision
  • To provide low level, targeted support for children and families in line with your competencies, as delegated by Health Visitor, School Nurse or Staff Nurse, for example behaviour management, infant feeding and other delegated Packages of Care
  • Weigh and measure the height of children in Reception and Year 6 as part of Public Health England's National Child Measurement Programme and to check that they are growing healthily and identify any growth problems
  • To support community Healthy Family Drop-In sessions (Child Health Clinics) in designated sites
  • Undertake statutory and mandatory and other training as required


We are looking for someone who can work as part of an effective team, who is able to work flexibly across Central Lancashire.

You must be passionate about the wellbeing and development of children in the local area.

You will have the ability to act independently as well as part of the multi-disciplinary team. You will have experience of working in partnership with families and liaising with parents regarding their child's needs

A full UK driving licence is required for this role and access to a vehicle.
