Location: THE PIG - and The Village Pub, Barnsley, Cirencester, Gloucestershire.

Salary: £12.07 per hour, plus service charge. Annual OTE of up to 33,120 based on a full-time, 45 hour per week contract.

Hours: Flexible, full & part-time hours available.

Contract Type: Permanent

Start Dates: Immediate starts available - The Village Pub. Mid-August start dates at the hotel.

Welcome to THE PIG - and The Village Pub

In January 2024, we acquired the 17th century Barnsley House hotel that is tucked away in the quintessential Cotswold's village of Barnsley, just four miles from Cirencester. THE PIG - and The Village Pub offers guests a classic example of an English country garden that evolves with the seasons including a kitchen garden that will supply the produce found on our 25-mile menu. In addition, The Village Pub will bring together hotel guests and friendly locals. The Village Pub menu will be brimming with nostalgic classics that give a sense of comfort and home-cooked familiarity.

We are delighted to be recruiting for Chef de Parties to join either our hotel or pub brigade.

The Role:

As Chef de Partie, you will experience all sections of the kitchen, keeping to timescales and ensuring the preparation and delivery of all food meets a high standard.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • A roll-up your sleeve, get stuck in approach to all tasks assigned by the Head Chef/Senior Sous Chef.
  • Working collaboratively, ensuring your section meets to timescales.
  • Preparation and cooking of meat, fish, veg including hot & cold starters and main courses.
  • Supporting the pastry section as/when required.
  • Ensuring a clean and organised workstation.
