Job Summary

A great opportunity has opened up in the Bristol Gynaecology department at Southmead Hospital. We are looking for a Cancer Navigator to join our team for 12 months. The ideal candidate should work in an organized and methodical way, handling multiple tasks in a busy environment with complex patient pathways.

The main role is to support cancer patients' journeys, coordinate with clinical teams, and ensure efficient service delivery. For more information, you can reach out to Gabbi Glanville, the Performance and Operations Manager for Gynaecology.

Main Duties of the Job

  • Act as a contact point for the Gynaecological cancer services team
  • Establish strong relationships with departments offering diagnostic services
  • Liaise with medical staff to support patients through their diagnostic journey
  • Build connections with primary care and community teams
  • Provide information about tests and procedures to expedite appointments
  • Update patients on appointments and next steps
  • Ensure timely booking of required tests
  • Track patients through their pathway daily
  • Understand the patient pathway for Gynaecological cancer
