Come and join our Dermatology Department as a Band 5 Staff Nurse You'll work in our Dermatology Outpatients Service, getting all the support you need to grow your knowledge and skills. We need someone with recent clinical experience at Band 5 in an acute Trust setting, along with evidence of ongoing professional development. Plus, you should have top-notch interpersonal and communication skills, great time management, and excellent personal organization.
Our Dermatology Department is a vibrant and forward-thinking service with a fantastic nursing team. We offer various day care treatments like phototherapy, photodynamic therapy, and topical treatments for patients with acute and chronic skin conditions. The service runs Monday to Friday across both our sites at Hillingdon and Mount Vernon Hospital.
This role is a brilliant opportunity for an eager and driven individual to develop expertise in this specialty. While experience in dermatology is beneficial, we're open to candidates who show a keen interest in pursuing a career in dermatology and have a solid history of personal and professional growth.

Main duties of the job
- Assist in managing the Dermatology Outpatient department and step in for Senior Nurses when needed.
- Provide high-quality care for patients and visitors in the Hospital and department.
- Communicate effectively with the multi-disciplinary team.
- Support the delivery of Dermatology and Plastic Surgery Services within the 18WW pathway.
- Take charge of nursing care assessment, delivery, implementation, and evaluation in the department.
- Serve as a role model to nursing staff.
- Take part in a clinical support role with medical/surgical clinicians and nurse specialists performing skin surgery and general clinics.
- Maintain patient information confidentiality at all times.
- Expertise in assessing and appropriately dressing wounds to promote healing.
- Keep accurate clinical records and legal documentation.
