Lead Planner - Building London & South East Commercial

Uxbridge

An opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Planner to join the team at Galliford Try.

Reporting to Planner/Senior Planner, to work in the Assistant Planner role in the development of detailed construction programmes and methodology.

May be required to assist with the provision of planning support to a number ongoing of 'live' projects, as experience is gained this will develop into the provision of planning support during the tendering stage.


Ideally, you will based in or around Uxbridge, London and will have the opportunity to travel across multiple sites/projects in the Region.


What you will be doing:

  • Have an appreciation of Project Management.
  • Be able to demonstrate a good knowledge of project requirements and site constraints.
  • Understand the Preconstruction and Construction Programmes.
  • Support development of detailed preconstruction and construction programmes, taking into account experience from similar schemes and information provided by the supply chain.
  • Assist with the development of preconstruction programmes linked to the construction programme and taking into account design and procurement.
  • Assist with/develop logistics and Sequencing in liaison with the project team.
  • Assist with Programme Commentary and Outline Method Statements.
  • Understand and be able to input to Preliminaries Assessment.
  • Be able to assist in the development of plant and scaffold requirements and schedules.
  • Provide ongoing Project Support.
  • Continually visit and monitor current projects to provide planning support and ensure accurate progress reporting.
  • Collate/Assist/Support in the production of As-Built records
  • Become familiar with the use of Galliford Try BMS (particularly in relation to Planning aspects)
  • May be required to assist with production of 4D programmes
  • Ensure 4Projects is used as document management system
  • Ensure compliance with Galliford Try BMS (particularly in relation to Planning aspects)

  • Good understanding of construction methodology/buildability issues.
  • Can demonstrate good verbal and written communication.
  • Can demonstrate good IT Skills.
  • Can demonstrate good problemsolving skills.
  • Friendly and approachable character.
  • Able to work as part of a project team.
