Site Reliability Engineer - Permanent - Up to £50K (Plus benefits) - Surrey (Hybrid)


I am working with an exciting customer, an industry leader in the insurance sector, who are looking to bring in an SRE to the team on a permanent basis.


The role:

  • Work with Product Delivery Managers to define and refine working practices between SRE Team and Product teams to increase collaboration and shift to DevOps focussed culture.
  • Responsible for supporting escalated incidents during office hours and outofhours support as required to ensure high availability of mission critical systems.

Experience required:

  • Proven experience and knowledge of Unix systems
  • A deep understanding of monitoring, and experience defining performance indicators and service level objectives
  • Knowledge of scripting or coding in bash and python
  • Determination to drive changes in support of our goals to improve quality and speed of delivery in a DevOps environment

Key Skills required

  • AWS (particularly CloudWatch and Lambda)
  • Docker and Kubernetes
  • Jira and Confluence
  • Jenkins
  • Monitoring / alerting tools and solutions
  • Puppet (or similar) and Terraform
  • Scripting or coding with bash, Python and / or Java
