Norwich, Norfolk, United Kingdom Ad Warrior Full time

SENDco

Location: Norwich, Norfolk

Salary: UPR

Job Type: Maternity Cover (September 2024 – June 2025)

Our client is a co-educational school for children from 7 to 11 years old. They offer a stimulating environment for learning, where every child can thrive and do well.

The Role

Candidates will be passionate about children's learning and development and have experience of working with children who have special educational needs.

A good knowledge and understanding of the SEND code of practice is desirable to underpin this role, though the school is fully committed to support the professional development of staff, and to provide appropriate training and accreditation.

You will be confident working with a range of stakeholders including parents and carers as well as liaising with other professionals.

The role is non-class based and the post holder will organise their time to support children, families and the staff team to ensure children with SEND are well supported. Because the post is working with SEND children, an appropriate allowance is included in the salary.

Skills and Qualifications

The School are looking for a SENDCo who:

  • Is highly organised and able to manage and balance the requirements of the role especially face to face meetings and administrative tasks.
  • Has high expectations of pupil achievement and is an excellent classroom practitioner
  • Has experience and expertise across the primary age range
  • Has excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Can support the SLT by analysing and reporting on pupil progress
  • Can effectively organise appropriate interventions for identified pupils.

Benefits

  • A non-class-based role with responsibility for leading inclusion across the school
  • A happy working environment with a supportive and hardworking team of staff
  • A commitment to your professional development
  • A school which puts the interests of the children first in all that they do.

To Apply

If you feel you are a suitable candidate and would like to work for this reputable School, please do not hesitate to apply.

This school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. To this end, you may be required to undergo pre-employment checks.

This post is covered by Part 7 of the Immigration Act and therefore the ability to speak fluent English is an essential part of this role.
