Sensata is a leading industrial technology company that develops sensors, sensor-based solutions, including controllers and software, and other mission-critical products to create valuable business insights for customers and end users.
The Buyer will work on the Indirect section of the Purchasing team, & be responsible for all buying activities in support of the Antrim manufacturing facility.
They will be responsible for filling purchase orders, working alongside inventory management and other internal departments, forecasting sales by item, analyzing trends and inventory based on historical data and monitoring sales performance.
Strategically, they will have responsibility for setting the forward direction for the commodity, & implementation of same.General Responsibilities
- Collaborates with the supply chain manager regarding maintaining proper inventory levels of materials used on a regular basis
- Key participant in the filling of purchase orders
- Organizes purchasing requisitions
- Key participant in the development of creating an accurate and efficient monitoring system
- Collaborates on entering data into databases or other computerized systems to maintain uptodate supplier and vendor information, to track purchases and the status of orders and deliveries, and to generate purchasing reports and statistics
- A university degree (i.e. Bachelors degree) or equivalent relevant work experience.
- Must be a team player able to work in a fastpaced environment with demonstrated ability to handle multiple competing tasks and demands
- Strong communication skills; oral, written and presentation
- Strong organization, planning and time management skills to achieve results
- Strong personal and professional ethical values and integrity
- Holds selfaccountable to achieving goals and standards
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
- Strong interpersonal & collaboration skills to work effectively with all levels of the organization including suppliers and/or external customers
Specific Responsibilities:
- Daily organisation of purchase requisitions and delivering of purchase orders to suppliers
- Hold face to face meetings with suppliers to maintain accounts, strong supplier relationships and negotiate keenest pricing
- Ensuring key relationships with internal customers are maintained through regular communication and promoting early buyer engagement to ensure procurement are involved at the earliest opportunity for the most successful supplier negotiations.
- Collaborate with the Supply Chain Manager regarding maintaining of proper inventory levels of materials used on a regular basis, ensuring no line stops are reported
- Maintaining up to date supplier information to track status of orders and deliveries and to generate purchasing reports and statistics
- Lead operational procurement for business support, examples include plant hire, PPE, furniture, office stationery, facilities support, training and consumables.
- Manage key projects for Germany warehouse, negotiating with German suppliers and maintaining internal and external customer relationships
- Reporting cost reductions at a global level on a regular basis
- Ensuring correct Policies and Procedures are followed
- Ensuring KPI's are met
- Managing projects from start to finish, initial selection of suppliers, completing negotiations, adding suppliers to supply base, ensuring contracts are completed and Purchase order is issued.
- Managing all packaging requests and delivering samples to internal teams from project start date to finished goods status.
Specific Experience:
- Must have 2+ years Buying experience
- 3rd level education
