  • Vacancy ID We are currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Grants Officer to work on site at one of our centrally based departments starting ASAP for approx 12 weeks working 37.5 hrs p/w and paying £17.

38 p/h**Duties:

  • To liaise with sponsors and Research Services to clarify terms and conditions associated with particular funding streams
  • Assist PIs as required with preparation of final reports to sponsors and members of the research team of the grant.
  • Maintain the research grant filing system so that all documentation relating to individual grants is kept uptodate and is accessible to all Finance staff. This should include records of any communications with budget holders about their ongoing spend against budget and future plans.
  • Monitor spend on grants to ensure eligibility of costs to specific funder terms and conditions and ensure any actions taken to remove ineligible costs is passed on to the FM and budget holder. Where patterns emerge, develop plans to communicate effective remedial plans to all budget holders across the department.
  • Meet with Principal Investigators/budget holders periodically throughout project periods to ensure spend is in line with internal and external conditions and suggest and record measures to monitor progress.
  • Work with research accounts to ensure projects are setup and maintained, in a timely manner, on the University finance system.
  • Run and distribute the 'Project Status and Activity' report on a monthly basis.
  • Support the FM to prepare the research income and overhead forecast on a quarterly basis to feed into the overall departmental budget. Monitor all funding from the Edward Penley Abraham Research Fund and liaise with the departments' Trust Office contact to ensure all funds, invoicing and reporting requirements are up to date.
