About the Role


We are undergoing an exciting time in our evolution and now seek a dedicated and diligent
Facilities Assistant to join our team in Peterborough.


As a Facilities Assistant you will take responsibility for the day-to-day maintenance and cleanliness of our office ensuring a welcoming and comfortable environment for our staff and visitors.

With copious amounts of initiative and attention to detail, you will be the custodian of our building, contributing to a 'great place to work' culture.


What you'll be getting up to on a day-to-day basis:

Building Cleanliness

  • Ensuring communal kitchen areas are well stocked, clean and tidy, including loading/emptying dishwashers, emptying bins ensuring we recycle where possible, maintaining coffee machines
  • Cleaning glass door and windows around the office
  • Shampooing carpets, vacuuming/ mopping hard floors
  • Cleaning washrooms, ensuring they are well stocked with bathroom supplies
  • Order and take receipt of general office stocks and supplies as required
  • Receive and distribute post

Building Maintenance

  • Undertake general maintenance work e.g. fixing office furniture, replacing light bulbs etc
  • Undertake painting and decorating work to ensure our office is always looking its best
  • Request and oversee maintenance work by preferred supplier list if unable to complete any maintenance tasks inhouse
  • Report, manage and complete any maintenance works reported via the Facilities Dashboard
  • Keep car parking area clean and tidy, disposing of rubbish and removing weeds where necessary

Building Security

  • Act as a building key holder during office hours
  • Opening of the office each morning, disarming security alarms
  • Take appropriate responsibility to ensure the grounds and building are secure

Health and Safety

  • Act as Fire Marshall during fire evacuation and drills
  • Undertake regular fire alarm tests recording times and dates of tests
  • Report any Health and Safety issues per internal processes
  • Address Health and Safety issues as instructed
  • Ensure that car park areas are safe during periods of bad weather, clearing snow/ice
  • Undertake emergency lighting tests recording times and dates of tests

Person Specification

Essential Criteria:

  • Previous experience in a similar role to include office cleaning and maintenance
  • Previous experience with DIY
  • Valid Right to Work in the UK (We do not currently hold a visa sponsorship licence)

Desirable Criteria:

  • Fire and/or Health and Safety Qualifications
  • Full driving license that enables you to drive in the UK and access to own vehicle for business purposes

Note:
This is a part-time role, with the individual required to work up to 5 mornings per week
