Personal Care Assistant/support Worker

Male OR Female Personal Care Assistant / Support Worker required to assist a person with a Brain injury living in the Blantyre area.


You would be required to provide one to one care and assistance within their home and in the community including attending to personal care and participation in social activities.

Interested in Sport, enjoys movies, trip's out to Cafes and socialising.

Your duties would involve assisting with tasks such as:

  • Attending to all personal care needs (showering, toileting including bowel movements, shaving)
  • Assisting with medication
  • Preparing meals and healthy snacks
  • Moving and assisting pushing manual wheelchair
  • Household shopping and collecting prescriptions
  • Any other daily living tasks to promote independent living

Driver essential and you will be required to drive a mobility vehicle.

  • The role requires close personal contact with an individual who is extremely vulnerable to the risk of infection and disease transmission. Preference may be given to applicants who have been fully vaccinated against COVID19. Careful consideration will be given to applicants who can show the vaccination is not suitable for them on reasonable grounds._


Must take a proactive and innovative approach to support and encourage individual to be involved in activities suited to their needs.

Previous experience in a support role is essential.

The most important qualities are a warm and friendly nature and a desire to work within a caring role.

Good interpersonal and communication skills are essential.

Hours of Work (with a degree of flexibility) must be willing to cover sickness and holidays
Recruiting for 1 position.

Guaranteed permanent position of 24 hours per week

Days and times:

Set shifts at set times OR weekly rota

EXAMPLE
Saturday 8.00 am - Sunday 8.00 am

or

Sunday 8.00 am - Monday 8.00 am

Hourly rate:

£12.00 per hour

Take Control is part of Glasgow Centre for Inclusive Living (GCIL), which is an established Disabled People's Organisation, with many years of experience assisting people to maximise their preferred support needs._
