Mechanical Design Engineer

The ideal candidate for this position would showcase robust multitasking and planning skills, pivotal for handling intricate carbon reduction M&E projects.

The successful candidate must have a proven track record of working on multi-discipline projects, a solid understanding of general construction processes, and engineering standards relevant to a variety of projects.

  • End-to-end development of mechanical designs
  • Review and monitoring of external designers up to RIBA stage 4
  • Creation and evaluation of project specifications
  • Conducting concept and detailed mechanical design for projects
  • Coordinating designs with other disciplines
  • Developing and implementing systems for enhanced efficiency and sustainability
  • Problem-solving alongside clients, design teams, suppliers, and contractors
  • Ensuring buildable designs with minimized risk at the design stage
  • Analyzing data and information
  • Liaising with clients, design teams, suppliers, and contractors
  • Project management using engineering principles and techniques
  • Monitoring and overseeing plant and system commissioning

The candidate should hold a BSc or BEng in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, in addition to commercial experience, preferably within Energy or SME Business in an operational building setting.

Other requirements include proficiency in technology such as pressure vessels, piping, heating systems, pumps, metering, and control valves, as well as the ability to produce schematic and layout drawings in 2D AutoCAD.

An extensive knowledge of HVAC systems, steam, water systems, and other related installations is also crucial.
