As the IT Operations Manager, you will assume responsibility for the day-to-day oversight of our esteemed 1st and 2nd line teams, spanning across multiple sites and Trusts.

It will be your responsibility to lead a team committed to delivering premier IT services at the forefront.

Essential attributes include adaptability, enthusiasm, and the capacity for initiative, essential for operating effectively under pressure, whether independently or as part of a cohesive unit.

Your proficiency in communication is paramount; engaging with users effortlessly while navigating challenges with finesse and efficiency.


But there's more to the role As a pivotal figure within our department, you will participate in our Senior Manager out-of-hours on-call rotation, ensuring uninterrupted operations around the clock.

We will spearhead the development and implementation of a modern desktop/mobile environment, transitioning to O365/virtual desktops and Azure. This initiative aligns with our commitment to staying at the forefront of technological advancements. Additionally, we will adopt an ITIL-based approach across our teams, ensuring efficiency and standardization in our operations.

Our focus extends to enhancing user experience through self-service options and automation where applicable.

By developing a comprehensive knowledgebase for Staff, Service desk, and Technicians, we aim to empower our workforce with the necessary resources for success.

Moreover, we will establish standard reporting standards, SLAs, and KPIs to facilitate effective performance measurement and management.


Ensuring seamless integration, we will manage the starters and leavers process in conjunction with workforce management, streamlining the allocation of IT equipment.

Standardization of devices across the organization will be achieved through the creation of a centralized catalogue. Emphasizing collaboration, we will synergize services across teams to optimize efficiency and resource utilization.


Lastly, staff development and training will be prioritized, fostering a culture of continuous learning and skill enhancement within our team.

You will be part of a Technical Leadership team which will help support the Chief Technology Officer & Head of Technical Services modernise and shape the IT Services support function.

Stream line and enhance the user experience

Manage and lead the teams

Develop and deliver key EUC projects such as EUC refresh and 0365 migration and adoption (currently underway)

SLA Management

Capital Planning and asset management

Training and development of teams

Working with regional colleagues to support collaboration

Provide out of hours on call support as part of a rota
