About the Role


We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our dynamic team at a well-regarded school in Handsworth, Birmingham.

As a HLTA, you will play a crucial role in supporting teaching and learning activities under the direction and supervision of teaching staff.

You will provide essential support to students, help to raise educational standards, and contribute to the overall positive atmosphere of the school.


Role Responsibilities:
Assist teachers in planning, preparing, and delivering lessons, and provide support to students individually or in small groups
Contribute to the planning and assessment of lessons, providing input based on student needs and learning outcomes.
Support the academic, social, and emotional development of students, helping to foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Prepare and organise classroom materials and resources to ensure lessons run smoothly and effectively.
Implement school policies on behaviour management, maintaining a safe and respectful learning environment.
Perform administrative tasks such as record-keeping, managing learning resources, and coordinating activities.
Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and other professionals to enhance the overall educational experience for students, participating in team meetings and contributing to the planning of interventions

Requirements:
Hold a relevant qualification (HLTA or QTS)
Previous experience of working with special educational needs
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to work independently and as part of a team, and a proactive approach to supporting educational development
Ability to work collaboratively within a team and on an individual basis
Understanding of the national curriculum and effective teaching practices
Knowledge of behaviour management techniques and experience implementing them effectively.
