As a HLTA, you will play a crucial role in supporting whole class groups and collaborating with other teaching assistants to promote student success and development.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting whole class groups under the guidance of the classroom teacher.
  • Delivering preplanned lessons and activities, ensuring student engagement and progress.
  • Providing individualised support to students with varying learning needs and abilities.
  • Assisting in the planning, preparation, and assessment of teaching and learning activities.
  • Collaborating with teachers and other support staff to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Mentoring and guiding other teaching assistants in their professional development journey.
  • Engaging in ongoing professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and expertise.
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (this can be arranged through Tradewind).

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • HLTA qualification or equivalent experience in a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of secondary curriculum requirements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents/carers.
  • Adaptability and flexibility to meet the evolving needs of the classroom environment.
  • Previous experience supporting whole class groups and delivering lessons independently.
  • Commitment to fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence in education.
