We are looking for a Senior Underwriter Liability (m/f/d), based in London
Your Team At Allianz Commercial we combine specialist expertise and global reach with high levels of AA-rated underwriting capacity to industry-specific exposures. This allows us to establish a reputation as leaders of some of the largest and most complex Liability risks in the market.
The Impact You Will Have As a Liability Underwriter, you will play a critical role in driving the profitability and growth of our liability insurance portfolio. You will be responsible for underwriting both new and renewal business, ensuring that all underwriting decisions align with our strategic objectives and risk management standards. Your expertise will help secure the financial stability of our clients and the long-term success of our organization.
Some of your specific responsibilities could include:
- Underwrite in line with the Liability governance framework, eg. Underwriting Authorities, Underwriting Guidelines, Rules, and Principles
- Ensure contract certainty is achieved on all accounts at the time of inception
- Drive involvement of functional areas in the Underwriting process, including Market Management, Risk Consulting, Claims, Operations
- Manage referrals from underwriters and re-underwrite complex business as appropriate
- Contribute to the development and execution of the regional Underwriting strategy for Liability
- Create and maintain positive relationships with key producers clients and other relevant stakeholders (eg. risk managers)
- Ensure accurate policy documentation is issued to producers (where it is AGCS' responsibility to do so) or producers have issued documentation (where producer's responsibility)
What You'll Bring to the Role
- At least 10 years experience underwriting or pricing profitable Construction Liability and project business for corporate clients
- Ideally you are ACII qualified, or working towards it
- You have recognized relationships with clients and brokers at the peer group level and are established within the market
- You have an understanding of regional/local Liability insurance markets and multi-national programs
- Capable of leveraging data and analytics to make business more efficient and effective
- You have a good understanding of the legal and regulatory framework
- You can design, develop, and implement consistent, robust wordings for contracts
- A team player, you work in open collaboration with others.
