As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with special needs, ensuring they have equal access to education and opportunities to succeed.


Responsibilities:

  • Support students in both group and oneonone settings, ensuring they are engaged and motivated in their learning.
  • Assist with classroom activities and create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Provide additional support to students who may require help with reading, writing, or other areas of their development.
  • Encourage social interaction and positive behavior, helping students to build confidence and selfesteem.
  • Monitor and track the progress of students, reporting back to the teacher and SENCO as required.
  • Collaborate with other teaching assistants and school staff to ensure a cohesive approach to student support.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children or young people with SEND is desirable
  • A compassionate and patient approach, with the ability to adapt to individual needs and learning styles.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with students, teachers, and parents.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
  • Ideally, relevant qualifications or training related to supporting children with special educational needs.
