We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Principal / Lead Civil Engineer to join our client, a market leader in the water industry, for a role covering the Anglian Water region.
This position will lead engineering efforts within the Anglian Water framework, ensuring the successful delivery of construction and infrastructure projects.
As a pivotal figure in the engineering team, you will be responsible for driving engineering excellence and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Leading and managing engineering teams, including direct employees and subcontractors, to ensure exceptional technical standards
- Implementing engineering processes and methodologies throughout all project phases, from design to final handover
- Building and maintaining strong working relationships with project teams, clients, and other key stakeholders
- Ensuring adequate engineering resources and clearly defining individual responsibilities
- Overseeing day-to-day engineering operations, ensuring all activities align with the Project Execution Plan
- Preparing and approving detailed engineering plans and method statements prior to project commencement
- Managing the timely resolution of technical issues, ensuring continuous improvement
- Monitoring project engineering performance, making adjustments as necessary to meet project goals
Requirements:
Proven experience in leading multi-disciplinary engineering projects, preferably within the water industry
Extensive knowledge of engineering processes and methodologies
Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and manage diverse teams
Familiarity with Construction Contracts, particularly NEC and/or IChemE
Working knowledge of CDM and construction Health & Safety regulations
Previous experience in water and wastewater treatment plants (an advantage)If you possess the required skills and experience for this dynamic and influential role, please apply below.
