What will you be doing?

  • Supporting the Transport Manager with the operational performance of the transport department, in line with the company
- policies and procedures

  • Daytoday rerouting of rounds due to additional work and changed requirements
  • This role is key to maintaining an engaged workforce and will be the facetoface contact with our drivers on a
- daily basis, supporting & managing drivers to act on issues identified on the rounds

  • Manage H&S at the front line, via regular, debrief contact with crews, reporting, and TBT
  • Ensure that the business is compliant with O Licence obligations to present vehicles for service
  • Communicate processes to the team and ensure the team adheres to these
  • Use the WIMS operating system to allocate work and monitor progress
  • Daily monitoring and focus on targeted KPIs
  • Act up in the absence of the Transport Manager due to absence or annual leave

What are we looking for?

  • Previous experience of operating within a similar industry; waste/transport / logistics
  • Ambition to progress and develop your career
  • CPC holder desirable, however, can be trained during employment
  • IOSH desirable but also can be obtained during employment
  • A confident and assertive communicator, able to deal with conflict in a direct and fair manner.
